What is Evusheld treatment?
Evusheld (tixagevimab co-packaged with cilgavimab) is a safe and effective treatment to prevent severe illness and hospitalization due to COVID-19. Evusheld also reduces viral load and symptom severity and length as a result of the virus.
How is Evusheld administered? Is Evusheld effective and how long does it last?
Evusheld treatment is administered via injection by American Infusion’s trained nursing staff. Evusheld offers a short term protection against COVID-19. You may need additional doses for ongoing protection, depending on the variants of COVID-19 that will develop.
Who can receive an Evusheld Injection?
Evusheld is a medicine administered to adults and adolescents over 12 years of age.
Evusheld is only for people who:
- Are NOT currently infected with Sars-CoV-2 and have not had recent contact with someone infected with Sars-CoV-2.
- Have moderate to severe immune compromise due to a medical condition, or have received immunosuppressive medicines or treatments and may not mount an adequate immune response to COVID-19 vaccination.
- Are not recommended to take the available COVID-19 vaccines due to a history of severe adverse reactions to a COVID-19 vaccine(s) or COVID-19 vaccine ingredients.
